BATAM -- PT Dok dan Perkapalan Air Kantung (PT DAK), a subsidiary of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, continues to strengthen its role in supporting national maritime connectivity through the exploration of a strategic partnership with ASDP Indonesia Ferry in the Batam region.
This initiative was marked by a working visit from PT DAK’s Board of Directors to the ASDP Batam office on Friday (April 10, 2026). The meeting served as an initial step to build collaboration in ship maintenance and docking services.
Acting President Director of PT DAK, Daswir Syarif, explained that the visit was part of efforts to strengthen relations while exploring cooperation opportunities between the two companies.
“This working visit aims to build closer relations and discuss potential cooperation between PT DAK and ASDP Batam Branch,” he said.
During the discussions, PT DAK presented its technical capabilities and docking facilities to support the operational needs of ASDP’s fleet in Batam. The proposed cooperation includes maintenance and docking services for ASDP’s roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels.
“The cooperation being explored involves the maintenance or docking of ASDP Batam Branch’s Ro-Ro vessels. Out of a total of 14 vessels, it is possible that 13 will undergo docking at PT DAK,” Daswir explained.
If realized, this partnership is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s performance, particularly in increasing revenue in the coming year.
“We hope this collaboration will make a significant contribution to increasing the company’s revenue in 2026,” he added.
In addition, this collaboration is also expected to improve the quality of maritime transportation services, particularly in ensuring that vessels remain in optimal and seaworthy condition.
PT DAK’s efforts are in line with its commitment to strengthening the national maritime sector while expanding its business portfolio in shipyard and maintenance services.
Through synergy among state-owned enterprises, PT DAK remains optimistic about enhancing its competitiveness and making a meaningful contribution to the development of Indonesia’s maritime industry. (*)
