PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah Tbk has been recognized by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (Workers Social Security Agency) for its exceptional dedication to providing social security protection for vulnerable workers in Bangka Belitung.
The award was presented during the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) event organized by the Pangkalpinang Branch of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan at Transmart Pangkalpinang on Tuesday (December 10, 2024).
Evi Haliyati Rachmat, Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Pangkalpinang Branch, handed the accolade to Ricky Pralayayuda, who represents the Human Capital Division of PT Timah Tbk.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, PT Timah Tbk has facilitated the participation of vulnerable workers in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, ensuring their social security protection.
In 2024 alone, PT Timah Tbk provided social security protection for 675 fishermen across Bangka Belitung. This program aims to enhance the safety and well-being of vulnerable workers within the company's operational areas.
Since 2022, as a MIND ID Mining Industry Holding member, PT Timah Tbk has extended social security protection to fishermen and individuals with disabilities, benefiting hundreds of recipients.
Evi Haliyati Rachmat, Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Pangkalpinang Branch, emphasized that the event aimed to strengthen coordination and synergy with strategic partners.
"While a company should protect its internal workforce, we also encourage companies to actively safeguard vulnerable workers in their surrounding communities through programs like Sertakan (Support Workers Around You) and CSR initiatives," Evi said.
Anggi Budiman Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, stated that this recognition reflects the company’s tangible contributions to improving community welfare.
“This award inspires us to continue implementing impactful programs for the community, particularly for vulnerable groups, through social security protection. These initiatives align with our commitment to sustainability and shared prosperity,” Anggi explained.
Apart from that, PT Timah Tbk in March 2024 also won the Paritrana Award 2024 at the Bangka Belitung Islands Province level in the Mining, Manufacturing, and Services category from BPJS Employment.
The Paritrana Award, presented by the President and organized by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, honors provincial, regency, and city governments as well as large-scale, medium-scale, public service sector, and micro-enterprises that fully support the implementation of social security programs for workers.
