BANGKA BARAT – Nasrul (48), a resident of West Bangka, was overwhelmed with emotion upon hearing that his son, Ravael (13), had received medical assistance from PT Timah on Thursday (February 13, 2025).
Currently, Nasrul and his family are in Palembang, South Sumatra, as Ravael undergoes treatment for a tumor. PT Timah swiftly stepped in to provide financial support for his medical expenses.
"I am very grateful because we truly need this assistance for Ravael’s treatment here— for food, transportation, and sometimes medications not covered by the hospital. Right now, Ravael is undergoing chemotherapy at Muhammad Husein Hospital in Palembang," he said.
Nasrul admitted that he had no prior knowledge of PT Timah’s assistance, as everything was arranged by volunteers dedicated to Ravael’s recovery.
"We were helped by volunteers who reached out to PT Timah. Alhamdulillah, the request processed by our friends was approved. Thank you to the volunteers and PT Timah for helping with our child’s medical expenses," he expressed tearfully over the phone.
Similarly, Ravael’s mother, Dewi Nur Indah Sari, expressed her gratitude and prayed for PT Timah’s continued support for the community.
"Alhamdulillah, thank you so much for PT Timah’s assistance. May Allah grant blessings and good health to the donors for their generosity," she said.
Meanwhile, Tanjung Village Head, Said Alwi, also extended his appreciation to PT Timah for helping cover residents' medical costs. He noted that PT Timah frequently assists sick residents.
"PT Timah often helps with medical expenses for our residents. In addition to medical aid, they have also provided food supplies, infrastructure support, disaster relief, marine reclamation efforts, community empowerment, and much more.
