Providing a Soccer Field for the Community in Bangka Barat, PT Timah Supports the Development of Young Athletes

BANGKA BARAT --- To optimize company assets while supporting the development of athletic talent, PT Timah has facilitated soccer training for children in Bangka Barat at the soccer field located in the PT Timah complex in Mentok.

The soccer field at the PT Timah complex is bustling every afternoon, with children aged 7 to 15 training under the guidance of coach Ari. Approximately 90 children participate in the training sessions on this soccer field.

PT Timah's initiative aims to provide quality sports facilities for the local community and support the emergence of potential young athletes in soccer.

"Every day, the children are eager to train, with about 90 of them currently participating in the sessions at the Timah field," he said.

Ari mentioned that PT Timah provides a soccer field facility for children in Bangka Barat to practice soccer. This collective training also serves as a platform for honing the children's soccer skills.

Several of Ari's students have already become talented early-age and junior soccer athletes, achieving success in various tournaments representing their respective schools.

"PT Timah has provided the field for the children to train. I have been entrusted by their parents to coach them in soccer here. We are grateful to PT Timah for facilitating the children's training. PT Timah has supported the nurturing of budding athletes and achievements, especially in soccer," he said.

One of the children, Aska (11), expressed his happiness about training soccer at the PT Timah field.

"I enjoy training soccer here; the field is great, and we have support from both the coach and our parents," said the SD 22 Mentok student.

Similarly, Zuma (8) shared that his love for soccer began by watching the national team on television.

"I love playing soccer. When I saw Indonesia score a goal, I wanted to be a soccer player too," Zuma explained. (*)
