BANGKA BARAT – PT Timah, in collaboration with the West Bangka Regency Government, continues its efforts to promote local culture and tourism, while also contributing to cultural preservation.
Recently, the West Bangka Regency Government held a cultural parade and carnival under the banner of the Jiran Nusantara Festival, an event organized to celebrate the 290th anniversary of Mentok City.
As part of its commitment to community development, PT Timah supported the event by assisting the organizing committee. The festival, which highlights both tourism and culture, is a regular program conducted by the West Bangka Tourism and Culture Office.
Rhohimin, the event organizer, explained that this year's celebration featured various competitions and activities, including a Malay Song Competition, a Cultural Parade, and a Cultural Carnival.
"We adopted the theme ‘From Mentok for Indonesia’ for the Jiran Nusantara Festival, hosting events such as the Malay Song Competition and Cultural Carnival," said Rhohimin.
He expressed gratitude for PT Timah's participation, which played a crucial role in the success of the festival.
"As the organizing committee, we are thankful for PT Timah’s support in promoting West Bangka’s culture through the Jiran Nusantara Festival. We hope this partnership will continue in the future," he added.
Muhamad Ali, the Head of the West Bangka Tourism and Culture Office, also praised PT Timah for its consistent support of local tourism and cultural initiatives.
