Promoting an Inclusive Work Culture, PT Timah's Commitment to Human Resource Development through the Women In TINS Program

PANGKALPINANG – PT Timah Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering inclusive and competitive human resource (HR) development. Aligned with the Core Values of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), PT Timah also prioritizes promoting inclusivity and gender diversity.

This initiative reflects the Ministry of BUMN's policy of creating a workplace environment that values diversity while strengthening the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance.

One of the concrete manifestations of this initiative is the Women In TINS (WIT) program, focusing on Personal Well-Being and raising awareness about the importance of mental and physical health for employees.

The Women In TINS program provides a platform for female employees to grow continuously. Various activities are organized to enhance the role and contributions of female employees in driving the company’s performance.

This time, Women In TINS hosted an event themed "Empowered Women, Fearlessly Creative." Hundreds of female employees from PT Timah’s operational areas in Bangka, Belitung, and the Riau Islands enthusiastically participated in the event, which was officially opened by the Division Head of Human Capital, Togap M.P. Siagian, at Graha Timah Pangkalpinang (29/11/2024).

During the Women In TINS session, Sistya Windasari, CEO & Founder of Fitsquad Indonesia, delivered an inspiring message about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.

“Healthy living is the foundation of productivity and empowers women to create fearlessly. It’s not just about physical fitness through proper nutrition and exercise but also about maintaining emotional balance and managing stress. Mental health is just as important as physical health because they are interconnected,” Sistya emphasized.

She added that healthy living also involves finding joy in routines, making time for oneself, and setting healthy boundaries.

“Every woman deserves to feel strong, happy, and empowered to achieve their dreams. With a healthy body and mind, we are better equipped to face life’s challenges, make a positive impact, and continue to grow both in the workplace and personal life,” she explained.

Sistya also shared practical tips with participants on managing stress, discovering happiness in routines, and staying fit despite a busy work schedule.

Anggi Budiman Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, highlighted the importance of empowering women through programs that emphasize inclusion, diversity, and well-being.

“PT Timah is committed to fostering an inclusive work culture where everyone, including women, has equal opportunities to grow and contribute. Through programs like Women In TINS, the company provides a space for women to learn from each other, share experiences, and gain inspiration. When women are empowered, the positive impact extends not only to the company but also to society as a whole,” Anggi said.

This event not only provided participants with new insights but also served as an opportunity to strengthen solidarity among PT Timah’s female employees across various operational areas. Open and inspiring discussions left participants feeling more motivated to maintain a balance between personal life and work.

Additionally, participants joined a group exercise session aimed at promoting physical fitness.

PT Timah Tbk hopes that the Women In TINS program, it can contribute to fostering a healthier and more inclusive work culture while empowering women across all levels. This program is also a tangible representation of the company’s support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting gender equality and enhancing well-being.(*)
