Promoting a Drug-Free Workplace, PT Timah's GERANAT Actively Conducts Drug Awareness Programs and Employee Urine Tests

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah remains committed to strengthening a healthy and productive work culture, while also creating a drug-free workplace. Through its internal organization, the Timah Anti-Narcotics Movement (GERANAT), the company continues to educate, prevent, and monitor the potential misuse of narcotics and illegal drugs within the work environment.

GERANAT was established in 2014 out of the concern and awareness of members of the Timah Employees Association regarding drug abuse, particularly within the company. Its presence is also part of PT Timah’s strategy to foster a drug-free workplace while supporting the national P4GN policy (Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics).

To prevent drug abuse in the company, GERANAT regularly implements several programs such as awareness campaigns on the dangers of drug use and prevention strategies, as well as routine urine testing for employees in both office and operational areas.

GERANAT does not work alone. In carrying out its activities, it partners with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) at the national, provincial, city, and district levels.

In addition, GERANAT regularly conducts educational campaigns about the dangers of drug abuse using various media such as flyers, banners, and posters placed in office and production areas.

Chairman of GERANAT PT Timah Tbk, Guntur Avriyandi, stated that the management fully supports the efforts to prevent drug abuse in the workplace.

"GERANAT continues to strive to prevent drug abuse in the work environment by collaborating with labor unions, TINS Agents, and internal employee communities to provide education on the dangers of drugs. Thankfully, the management has shown strong support for the programs initiated by GERANAT," said Guntur.

He added that maintaining a drug-free workplace helps boost productivity and sustain the company’s operations in the long term.

"The preventive efforts we are making are also aligned with the theme of the 2025 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which emphasizes supporting and implementing programs that strengthen action and cooperation toward a world free from drug abuse especially within PT Timah Tbk, its subsidiaries, and business partners," he said.
