Preventing Work Accidents, PT Timah Promotes the SafeTINS Program 

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah continues to be committed to implementing K3 Culture in the company's business processes. Implementing a strong K3 culture is the key to creating a safe and productive work environment.

For this reason, PT Timah continues to present innovative programs to implement K3 culture within the company, namely SafeTINS. This program was delivered in the TINS ??Series: Operations with the theme "Moving Together for Our Work Safety".

The virtual activity was attended by the Director of Operations and Production of PT Timah Nur Adi Kuncoro followed by Timah People on Friday 23 August 2024.

This webinar presented four speakers, namely SVP, Division of Health Safety and Security MIND ID, Budi Haryanto, VP of Mining Safety Division PT Freeport Indonesia Eman Widijanto, Head of K3LH and Sustainability Division PT Timah Tonggo P. Situmorang, and Senior GM Health Safety and Operational Risk PT Vale Indonesia M. Adli AZ Lubis.

Nur Adi Kuncoro in his opening remarks said that PT Timah management prioritizes implementing K3 Culture. So continue to make efforts to improve K3 culture.

"We hope that Timah employees can understand and have the awareness that safety is a shared priority. A joint commitment is needed to achieve zero fatalities and this needs to be encouraged so that awareness can arise," he said.

Moving in the mining industry, it is undeniable that there are quite high occupational risks. However, with the SafeTINS program, it is hoped that it can increase business efficiency, work productivity, create a comfortable work environment, and improve the company's image.

"PT Timah's K3 Culture transformation program continues to develop, after previously we had the Mucak K3 and Culture 5R programs. And now we have the SAFETINS 5R program," he said.

Furthermore, Nur Adi explained that the SAFETINS 5R program is an effort to build awareness and discipline in work behavior by prioritizing work safety through the implementation of safety and 5R culture as an effort to prevent accidents and increase company productivity.

"I hope that all Timah people can support and participate in SAFETINS 5R, starting from themselves, reminding colleagues in the work environment to implement safety and 5R," he said.

SVP Division of Health Safety and Security MIND ID, Budi Haryanto appreciated the various efforts of members of the Mining Industry Holding to promote K3 Culture so that accidents can be prevented.

"Work safety is everyone's responsibility, MIND ID continues to encourage all its members to make safety a shared culture in carrying out business processes," he said.

On this occasion, the speakers spoke about the efforts of each company to prevent work accidents and the programs implemented to improve K3 culture in the company's business processes. (*)
