PANGKALPINANG - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto officially launched the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) or Danantara on Monday (24/2/2024).
Danantara was formed to optimize the country's wealth through strategic investments. This is a step by the Indonesian government to ensure that Indonesia can be independent and stand on its own feet. This is in line with the ideals expressed by President Soekarno: “Only a nation that dares to take its fate into its own hands can stand strong.”
Danantara is taken from a combination of three words: Daya Anagata Nusantara or the Power of Indonesia's Future will be the main catalyst to realize the future of Indonesia's young generation towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.
President Prabowo Subianto, as the initiator of this grand strategy, emphasized that the establishment of Danantara aims to consolidate all the economic power owned by State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). This step is expected to optimize the management of state assets and accelerate national economic growth.
By consolidating national strategic resources and optimizing the management of state-owned assets, Danantara will become a catalyst for value-added industrialization, ensuring that the country's natural resources are no longer exported raw, but processed and utilized to the greatest extent for the prosperity of the people.
One of Danantara's main focuses is to ensure that the downstreaming of natural resources is effective. President Joko Widodo once stated that developed countries have long depended on importing raw materials from Indonesia, signaling the importance of domestic processing of natural resources.
In addition, with a rapidly growing population, strengthening the food sector is crucial. Efforts such as self-sufficiency in rice and sugar, as well as biofuel production, have been initiated to ensure national food security.
Danantara should not just be a business entity, but a key pillar in building a resilient and sustainable economic ecosystem. Danantara must be present to free Indonesia from foreign dependence and strengthen the country's position in the international arena. Danantara is a tangible manifestation of the nation's determination to stand on its own feet.
Under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, with his strategic vision and commitment to national sovereignty, Danantara is not just a dream, but a concrete step towards a developed, prosperous and world-respected Indonesia.
“Danantara is not just an investment management agency, but will be an instrument of national development that will optimize the way we manage the nation's wealth. Make no mistake, what we are launching today is not just an investment management agency but a national development instrument that must be able to change the way we manage the nation's wealth, for the welfare of all Indonesian people,” Prabowo said.
The establishment of Danantara also marks a new era in the transformation of the country's strategic investment management. President Director of PT Timah Ahmad Dani Virsal said that the presence of Danantara will be an accelerator for the acceleration of the downstream of the tin commodity.
