Preserving the Tradition of the Jering Tribe, PT TIMAH Tbk Supports the Maulid Agung Ritual of Pelangas Village

WEST BANGKA -- Maintaining traditions and preserving customs in the company's operational areas is PT TIMAH Tbk's commitment to supporting the preservation of community customs.

PT TIMAH Tbk has consistently supported traditional conservation activities carried out by the community, such as keeping the conventional ritual of Maulid Agung in Pelangas Village, Simpang Teritip District, West Bangka Regency.

Assistance to support these activities was handed over by the Deputy Head of the Metallurgical Unit, Kopdi Saragih, and received by the Chairperson of the Jering Customary Institute, Dato' Radindo Sri Sardi, at Setana Jering Amantubillah, Pelangas Village, Thursday (27/10/2022).

The chairman of Setana Jering Amantubillah Dato' Radindo Sri Sardi said PT TIMAH Tbk is consistent in preserving the traditions of the Jering tribe in West Bangka.

"So far, the establishment of Setana Jering Amantubillah. PT TIMAH Tbk has consistently helped Satana Jering Amantubillah, from facilities and infrastructure to implement the traditional ritual of Setana Jering, both moral and material support," said Sardi.

He considered that PT TIMAH Tbk was also actively involved in preserving customs in several villages in West Bangka such as alms kapong in kundi, Simpang Tiga, the ketupat war custom in Tempilang village, and others.

"Thanks to PT TIMAH Tbk, hopefully, it will remain Jaya and Forward and continue to be able to contribute to the preservation of customs," said Sardi.

Meanwhile, Pelangas Village Head Welli Wahyudi appreciated PT Timah's contribution to the development of his village's progress.

"We welcome what PT TIMAH Tbk has done, not only in the preservation of customs but in the socio-religious field, PT TIMAH also contributes. We also hope that PT TIMAH will be able to succeed in the football tournament which will be held next month," he said.
