Preserving the Environment, PT Timah Supports Simultaneous Tree Planting Movement in the Context of Bhayangkara Anniversary in West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- In order to support environmental sustainability in operational areas, PT Timah Tbk continuously manages the environment. One of them is by promoting greening activities.

Apart from carrying out the planting itself, PT Timah Tbk also frequently collaborates with stakeholders and the community to plant trees. This time, members of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding support the Simultaneous Tree Planting Movement on post-mining land in the framework of the 77th Bhayangkara Day which was carried out simultaneously in Regencies/Cities.

In the Simultaneous Tree Planting Movement in West Bangka Regency, PT Timah Tbk provided assistance to as many as 4000 mangrove seedlings planted on a 5-hectare land.

The Bangka Belitung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Pol Yan Southeast Sulawesi Indrajaya in his virtual remarks said that this activity was carried out simultaneously in seven districts/cities in Babel in order to support government programs and commemorate the 77th Bhayangkara Anniversary.

"The National Police is present in the simultaneous tree planting activities, economic recovery, infrastructure, equitable development, creating food and energy security, investment certainty, creating a safe and peaceful Kamtibmas situation. Polda always provides the best solutions to community problems, as well as post-mining land issues which provide restoration of ecosystems and their functions," he said.

Furthermore, the Kapolda conveyed that this movement was a real movement that was carried out simultaneously and continuously in Bangka Belitung, by prioritizing the synergy between the TNI, Police, Government, related stakeholders, PT Timah Tbk, and members of society.

"We also encourage awareness of the importance of preserving nature and quality of life. Thank you to all those who have helped.

Meanwhile, the Head of Belo Laut Village, Ibnu said that activities to reforest critical land in his area were often carried out by the National Police, the TNI, and also PT Timah.

"On behalf of the Belo Laut community, we would like to thank the National Police for carrying out this activity. Previously, PT Timah and the TNI had carried out reforestation activities in several places. We hope that what has been planted will be maintained and grow well, and this activity will continue," he hoped.

Meanwhile, West Bangka Regent H. Sukirman welcomed the Simultaneous Tree Planting Movement. He hopes that this activity can continue to be sustainable so that it can reduce critical land.

"Hopefully this movement can be carried out continuously by other agencies. The regional government and also the whole community can be involved in the movement to green the environment of critical land in Bangka Belitung and this will become a charity for us," said Sukirman. (*)
