BANGKA — To support environmental preservation and maintain the natural charm of the Batu Tunggal Beach tourism area in Bangka Regency, PT Timah has provided cleaning equipment assistance to the Rambak Community Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis).
The donation, which includes trash bins, brooms, and other cleaning tools, aims to support beach cleanliness management and preserve the beauty of the coastal area.
Prior to PT Timah’s assistance, the management of Batu Tunggal Beach was carried out independently by the residents of Rambak Village. Although the beach has existed for quite some time, its development only became active in the past month after residents collaborated to open an access road to the site.
The Batu Tunggal Beach area now features several facilities, such as gazebos and rinse rooms, to enhance visitor comfort.
Ali, the head of Rambak Village’s neighborhood unit, expressed his appreciation for PT Timah’s support in helping to develop the Batu Tunggal tourism area.
“We fully support PT Timah’s initiatives. We also hope this synergy continues between PT Timah and the local community. It would be a shame if this land ended up being managed by outside investors,” said Ali.
Meanwhile, Hasan, Vice Chairman of the Rambak Village Pokdarwis, stated that the presence of Batu Tunggal Beach has brought positive impacts to the community.
“Many residents are already feeling the benefits from this beach’s development. Local vendors have started to enjoy direct income since the beach was opened,” he explained.
He also noted that the beach is being managed progressively, although the increasing volume of waste due to rising visitor numbers has been challenging for the current management team.
“We continue to support PT Timah Tbk’s programs, including the greening of this coastal area. We hope this cooperation continues in the future. Honestly, PT Timah has already made significant contributions to us,” Hasan added.
The Batu Tunggal Beach area is now attracting more visitors and was even overcrowded last weekend, causing long queues at the entrance gate. Security patrols are now conducted day and night by local military (Babinsa) and community police (Kamtibmas).
This tourism potential is seen as highly promising and is expected to sustainably improve the local economy of Rambak Village. (*)
