Presents PT Timah Entrepreneur Disabled School Program at SLB N Mentok, Griska: PT Timah I Love You

WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah continuously supports inclusive education in the company's operational areas. This effort is made to improve the quality of human resources in the mine area.

Support for inclusive education is carried out in several programs, such as supporting education for children with special needs, parenting education for parents with disabilities, education for teachers of children with special needs, and others.

This time, PT Timah, through its social innovation program, collaborated with the Mentok State SLB to hold the PT Timah Entrepreneur School for Disabilities program.

Through this program, Mentok Special School (SLB) students are given training in batik making and making juice drinks guided by teachers and professional staff at their school.

The activity of making batik and juice drinks at SLB Mentok attracted the attention of the Director of Operations and Production, Nur Adi Kuncoro, who visited him.
The director of Production was amazed to see the enthusiasm of the SLB students practicing and learning in this Disabled Entrepreneur School activity.

Members of the MIND ID Mining Industry Holding provide assistance with equipment and materials. For making batik, PT Timah helps with frames which are used to frame areas of cloth for making batik, and Batik Stamps.
Meanwhile, PT Timah MSME products provide various equipment such as blenders, sillers, and orange squeezers.

Griska Septiani, one of the SLB students, through an interview using Sign Language, was very happy to be able to study at PT Timah's Disabled Entrepreneurship School program.

"Thank you to PT Timah for helping us to be able to match the others. Please support us so you can buy our products. We hope you like the Batik and Juice that we make. PT Timah I Love You," said Griska in her native language, on Friday (26 / 7/2024).

Head of Muntok State SLB Arief Jananto said the program run by PT Timah was in line with the vision and mission of the school he leads.

"We feel very lucky, that there is attention from PT Timah for Mentok State SLB, which in fact is a school that educates children with special needs (Disabilities)," he said.

According to him, this program provides wider opportunities for children to be able to practice and learn skills.

“This is also in line with our vision to create independent children. "We are very grateful to PT Timah, for the assistance provided to SLB," he said.

In the future, he hopes that students who receive this training will be able to utilize their skills for business, open up business insights so that their businesses can develop and enable them to be self-sufficient and build financial capabilities.

Arief hopes that this program will be sustainable and develop. He also hopes that PT Timah will help promote and market products for people with disabilities.

"We hope that this program can be sustainable and developed, for other fields, for example, sewing or others, to accommodate students who have expertise in fields other than batik and MSMEs," he hoped.
