PANGKALPINANG -- Health is a basic need and a fundamental foundation in people’s lives. Recognizing this, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to improving the quality of public health, particularly in its operational areas.
The company has rolled out various health programs on an ongoing basis, ranging from free medical services, stunting prevention and treatment, financial assistance for medical care, to education on healthy lifestyles. These efforts are part of the company’s social responsibility to support community welfare.
Over the past three years, PT TIMAH’s free medical services through its Mobile Health program have served 17,212 people across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, the Riau Islands Province, and Riau Province. The Mobile Health program has also reached 145 locations, from villages to public facilities.
Through the Mobile Health program, PT TIMAH provides healthcare services for all age groups, from children to the elderly. In addition to treatment, medical personnel also provide education on healthy living practices.
PT TIMAH is also actively working to address and prevent stunting in its operational areas through the Kemunting Program (Movement to Reduce Stunting). This program includes education on proper nutrition, supplementary feeding, and strengthening the capacity of community health workers.
The primary targets of the Kemunting Program include students, pregnant women, toddlers, and health cadres in mining ring areas. Through this approach, PT TIMAH aims to encourage family independence in improving nutrition, contributing to the development of a high-quality generation toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
In addition, PT TIMAH regularly provides financial assistance for medical treatment to communities in need within its operational areas. In 2025, dozens of people benefited from this program, which continues into 2026.
PT TIMAH’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that health is a key foundation in improving productivity and quality of life. Therefore, the company not only focuses on its operational activities but also actively contributes to the health sector.
“A healthy society is the key to sustainable development. That is why the company places the health sector as a priority in its social programs,” he said.
In addition to providing direct healthcare services, the company also collaborates with various stakeholders, including medical personnel, local governments, and healthcare facilities. This is done to ensure that the programs are well-targeted and deliver maximum benefits.
The community has responded positively to these initiatives. The presence of the company’s health programs is considered highly beneficial, especially for those with limited access to medical services.
One of the beneficiaries of PT TIMAH’s Mobile Health program, Ida, a resident of Sungai Baru, Mentok, West Bangka Regency, said she regularly uses the service. She noted that the service is fast, convenient, and very helpful.
“This is my third time receiving treatment from the Mobile Health service. The service is quick, there’s no long waiting time, and the location is close to my home,” she said.
She added that the program is especially helpful for people who have difficulty accessing healthcare services.
“For people who live far from healthcare facilities, this makes it easier and faster to get treatment. I hope this program continues, for example once a month,” she added.
In addition, the benefits of the medical assistance program were also felt by Rosnah, a resident of Rias Village, South Bangka Regency.
Rosnah, who is now around 70 years old, is known to have a serious health condition that requires ongoing medical treatment. Her family has struggled to cover the medical expenses, making PT TIMAH’s assistance a great source of hope for them.
Rosnah’s son, Darazi, expressed his gratitude for PT TIMAH’s care and support for his family.
He said that the assistance is very meaningful and has helped ease the burden they are currently facing.
