The PT Timah Tbk Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali is intended for high-achieving students from low-income families in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Karimun Regency in the Riau Islands Province, and Kepulauan Meranti Regency in Riau Province.
Through this program, PT Timah Tbk provides opportunities for children in its operational areas to receive free education.
The PT Timah Tbk Scholarship Class Program adopts a boarding school system, where scholarship recipients not only receive educational scholarships but also living necessities and school supplies.
The PT Timah Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali has been running since 2000, and to date, 886 alumni have benefited from this free education initiative, which was initiated by the Mining Industry Holding Company MIND ID.
Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, Anggi Siahaan, stated that this scholarship program is part of the company's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, aimed at expanding access to quality education for the younger generation, especially in the company's operational areas.
