WEST BANGKA – In order to accelerate the handling of Covid-19 in West Bangka, PT Timah Tbk distributed aid to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of West Bangka Regency who are members of a special humanitarian volunteer team for the funeral of the bodies of Covid-19 patients.
The assistance in the form of two spray pumps, 30 hazmat packs, 10 boxes of masks and three boxes of bear milk was handed over by the Head of Administration for the Muntok Metallurgical Unit (Unmet) Arif Yudianyo to the Secretary of PMI West Bangka Deri Aryandi A.Md at the PMI West Bangka Office, Tuesday. (24/8/2021).
PT Timah Tbk is committed to supporting the handling of Covid-19 in West Bangka. Through this assistance, it is hoped that it will help the volunteers on duty to avoid being exposed to Covid-19.
PMI West Bangka not only handles funerals for Covid-19 patients, but is also active in handling tracing, tracking, swab and enforcement of judicial operations related to health protocol violations.
PMI West Bangka Secretary Deri Aryandi A.Md said that PT Timah's assistance was very useful for the Humanitarian volunteer team who are active in handling Covid-19 in West Bangka.
"We thank PT Timah for caring about PMI and humanitarian fighters. We are carrying out the task of handling Covid, especially funerals, tracking and spraying disinfectants in people's homes, public places, offices and others," he said.
He said that the assistance needed by PT Timah Tbk was the needs of the volunteer team in accordance with their duties.
"We are very helpful, because these tools are very useful, displayers are useful in spraying disinfectants, hazmat clothes and masks are useful for picking up from the hospital to integrated isolation and funerals," he explained.
Similarly, the Team Commander for the Funeral Team for the West Bangka Covid-19 patient , Peltu Laut Tampubolon, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for providing assistance to the volunteer team.
"We, the Humanitarian Volunteer Team, thank PT Timah for the assistance of two spray units and PPE and health milk for the humanitarian team. This assistance is certainly very meaningful in dealing with Covid-19 in West Bangka," he said.
