Planting 2.000 Mangroves, PT Timah Turns Tanjung Pakdan Beach Tourism

BANGKA BARAT – Reviving the Tanjung Pak and Teluk Rubiah Tourism areas, Tanjung Village, West Bangka Regency, PT Timah Tbk together with the community planted 2000 mangrove trunks in the Tanjung Pakdan Coastal Area, Monday (20/9/2021).

This mangrove planting activity is the company's effort to maintain the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem and also empower the community to jointly protect the environment.

This PT Timah Tbk Community Development activity involved the community and the community was also attended by the Head of CSR Division of PT Timah Tbk Adam Darmawan, District Head Muntok Sukandi, Head of RT 02 Lintang Tatang, Representative of KPHP Rambat Menduyung, Department of Environment of West Bangka, UPLB Division, Unmet, CSR PT Tin and the surrounding community.

The Sukandi Sub-district Head appreciated PT Timah Tbk for planting mangroves to preserve the coastal environment. He hopes that the mangrove planting program will be successful.

"Thanks to PT Timah Tbk for helping to plant 2000 mangrove trees. Appreciation to PT Timah for always paying attention to the environment at Tanjung Pakdan Beach. Because this is a form of protecting one of the tourist attraction areas in the Unmet area, "he said.

He admitted that mangrove planting was often carried out in the Tanjung Pakdan Coastal Area. However, with the presence of this peeling mangrove, it is hoped that this coastal area will beautify.

"With this type of pelepat mangrove, it is hoped that it will be better, greener and thrive. Because there are also those who have planted it many times, but the coastal area remains like this," he explained.

He hopes that all parties will be involved in maintaining the mangrove trees that have been planted, so that later the planted mangroves can grow.

"After planting, we can take care of it together. This means that the provider conveys like this, our residents, the RT, Tanjung kelurahan can be monitored. If it is not treated, it will certainly not produce maximum results like that," he hoped.

The head of the Lintang Mangrove Management Team, Tatang, said that together with the residents, they are determined to manage these mangroves.

"This activity will be managed by the entire community of Tanjung Pak and Teluk Rubiah,
With a gradual management system, there are people who breed, some plant, maintain up to the entire Latitude," he said.

Tatang who is also the Chairman of RT 02 RW 06 Teluk Rubiah hopes that in the future the mangroves will grow at dawn and become a tourist attraction.

"Hopefully in the future if these mangrove plants thrive, mangrove tourism will be created, where this area is one of the tourist attractions. With tourist visits, it can revive the economy of the people here," he concluded. (**)
