People's Mining Cooperative, PT Timah's solution step together with the Babel Prosecutor's Office to accommodate the mining community

PANGKALPINANG -- The High Prosecutor's Office for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province initiated the People's Mining Cooperative in collaboration with PT Timah.

Development of the People's Mining Cooperative to accommodate the mining community who want to mine in the PT Timah Mining Business License (IUP) area.

The President Director of PT Timah, Ahmad Dani Virsal, said that PT Timah is currently still discussing with the Bangka Belitung High Prosecutor's Office to realize a community mining cooperative.

This was conveyed by Ahmad Dani Virsal in a Public Discussion with the theme 'Where do you want to take the Bangka Belitung Islands Province' which was organized by Pondok Aspirasi at Pondok Aspirasi Pangkalpinang, Saturday (2/3/2024).

"Today we are presenting a solution together with the Babel Prosecutor's Office to accommodate the mining community by setting up a community mining cooperative to mine at the PT Timah IUP," he said.

Later, people who are members of this community mining cooperative can carry out mining at the PT Timah IUP.

"Hopefully this is a solution that we can provide to the people of Bangka Belitung, how to mine safely and orderly at the PT Timah IUP," said Ahmad Dani Virsal.

On this occasion, the Managing Director also said that PT Timah continues to strive to optimize the wealth of natural tin resources to support development and improve community welfare.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Coordinator of the Babel Prosecutor's Office, Amanda, said that currently the Babel Prosecutor's Office and PT Timah are intensely discussing the formation of this community mining cooperative.

"In anticipation of the ongoing legal process, the Babel Prosecutor's Office has provided a solution to form a tin cooperative and we are currently discussing this with PT Timah regarding regulations. So that legal action will not hinder the economy in Babel," he said. (*)
