PANGKALPINANG -- To support religious education for children, PT Timah Tbk donated donations to renovate Al Bantani Quran Education Park (TPQ), Gabek 1, Pangkalbalam District, Pangkalpinang City.
TPQ Al Bantani was founded about 19 years ago. It is a Quranic educational garden that has the goal of creating a Quranic generation.
Currently, there are around 100 students studying at TPQ led by Masriah. The children who study come from various ages from kindergarten to high school.
Masriah said that initially she taught the Quran to children at her home, but had been moved to the front. Because her condition on the highway made her worried about the children. So she decided to return to expand the children's reading room at his home.
"The old building is on the side of the road, so I'm a bit horrified that these children sometimes run around because those who study here from kindergarten to high school. So I decided to renovate the old building in my house so that young children learn there. So it's safer," said the woman who is often called Sri.
Sri said that with the help from PT Timah Tbk, she could expand the place to teach children. In addition, later also can add many more students.
"Those who study here are from Kerabut, Pangkalbalam, and Selindung. Because our intention is to help children learn the Koran, write the Quran, jurisprudence, tajwid, and other religious knowledge," she said.
She is grateful, PT Timah Tbk can help them in renovating the building for their TPQ. So that later the children can learn comfortably.
"The active children studied, around 70 children were divided into several sessions from 15.30 to 20.00 WIB. I was assisted by four other teachers teaching the children here," she said.
In the future, she hopes that PT Timah Tbk can continue to support them in developing TPQ. So that later it can continue to create a generation of Qurani.
"We are very grateful and proud that PT Timah Tbk has cared about and participated in supporting children to learn religion because religious knowledge is very important for the provision of children," she said.
