GEMURUH -- To support the Government in supporting the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia, PT Timah Tbk through the Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) program continues to carry out education about handling stunting and providing additional food for stunted children in the company's operational areas.
This time, PT Timah Tbk handed over dozens of additional food packages to nursing children at the Tok Macang Building, Gemuruh Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency, Thursday (19/10/2023).
PT Timah Tbk invited company doctor Dr. Faisal Ibrahim to educate the community, especially women in Gemuruh Village, on stunting prevention, management, and symptoms.
Dr Faisal explained that stunting is not just a hereditary factor or genes, but also many other factors such as environment and lifestyle. For this reason, he invites the public to adopt a healthy lifestyle and maintain a clean environment.
One of the parents who received assistance, Nurliana, admitted that she was very happy with the additional food assistance so it was hoped that her child could grow and develop well and stay healthy.
"Thank you to PT Timah and this is very helpful for the additional food needs of my child who is currently 3 years old," she said.
Likewise, Nur Aini also appreciated PT Timah for providing additional food for her children.
"Due to the family's economic limitations, my husband's income as a traditional fisherman is minimal, so this additional food assistance is certainly beneficial for me and my child. So it is hoped that my child will be healthier," she said.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Gemuruh Village, Riduan, expressed his gratitude to PT Timah for helping the residents of Gemuruh Village with the Supplementary Food Providing Program (PMT) for Stunting children in Gemuruh Village.
"Hopefully, activities like this from PT Timah Tbk can help reduce the stunting rate in Gemuruh Village. So that we can achieve the Government's program to reduce the stunting rate," he explained.
West Kundur District Head Yusufian, who was also present at this activity, gave extraordinary appreciation to PT Timah Tbk which often helps the community in various aspects.
