KARIMUN -- Preservation of customs and culture is one of the things that has become one of the concerns of PT Timah Tbk. This time, PT Timah Tbk is participating in supporting the progress of cultural preservation at the Setunak Gema and Culture Art Studio in Tulang Village, Gelam Strait District, Karimun Regency, Riau Archipelago Province. This assistance was handed over to the Head of the Setunak Surya Echo Art and Culture Studio, Thursday 20 July 2023.
Surya said that they would use assistance from PT Timah Tbk to complete their artistic equipment such as kompang and others.
Founded last year, currently there are around 40 people of various ages joining the Setunak Gema and Culture Art Studio. They practice compan, dance and salawat.
In fact, it is not uncommon for the community to invite their studio to appear at events such as recitation assemblies, weddings, and other traditional activities.
"Thank you to PT Timah for the assistance that has given attention and support to the Setunak Gema Budaya Art Studio so that our studio will be more advanced. Later it will be used to buy Kompang and others," She said.
According to him, until now only PT Timah has paid attention to this Studio so that it can continue to grow.
"Hopefully in the future, PT Timah can continue to support the activities of this Studio in order to promote and maintain Art and Culture in the Setunak community so that foreign culture does not disappear," She hoped. (**)
