PANGKALPINANG -- The New Student Admission Committee (PPDB) for the Pemali Boarding School Scholarship Program by PT Timah at SMAN 1 Pemali for the 2025/2026 Academic Year announced that 63 students have passed the administrative and field survey selection as of Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The 63 selected students come from the provinces of Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau, and Riau Islands.
A total of 248 applicants registered for the Pemali Boarding School Scholarship Program selection for the 2025/2026 academic year, an increase from 211 applicants in 2024.
The Pemali Boarding School Program is part of PT Timah’s commitment to support quality education and provide opportunities for high-achieving students from low-income families to access quality education.
The selection process was carried out strictly in two stages: administrative verification and home visits to the applicants. The aim was to ensure that scholarship candidates truly meet the criteria in terms of both academic performance and economic background.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, said that the students who passed the administrative and field survey stages will proceed to the next phase, which includes Academic Potential Test, Psychological Test, Interview, Clinical Psychology Assessment, and Document Validation, scheduled for May 10–15, 2025.
"The selection process involves various parties, including the Department of Education of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, representatives from SMAN 1 Pemali, the Pemali Boarding School Dormitory Management, and the Center for Psychological Innovation at Padjadjaran University. All processes are conducted transparently," said Anggi.
Anggi reminded participants who passed the administrative and field survey stages to regularly check for updates through the official website.
"All selection processes are free of charge. We encourage those who passed the administrative stage to monitor information through the official site. For those who did not pass, do not be discouraged, and for those who did, prepare yourselves for the next tests," he said.
