BANGKA – PT Timah has once again launched its free nutritious meal program across schools in its operational areas. This time, the program was held at SDN 14 Sungailiat and TK Pesona Ananda in Rambak, Bangka Regency, on Tuesday (December 10, 2024).
The program was warmly received by students and school staff, with 164 elementary school students and 32 kindergarteners enjoying balanced and nutritious lunch menus.
Acting Regent of Bangka, M. Haris, emphasized in his remarks that this initiative is part of the government's efforts to nurture a healthy generation in preparation for a Golden Indonesia by 2045.
"The nutritious meal program is a national initiative under the Asta Cita vision of President Prabowo’s administration. It focuses on strengthening human capital development, starting with preparing a golden generation. Attention must be given to food preparation methods and maintaining the nutritional value of the meals," he stated.
Haris further expressed appreciation for PT Timah's involvement, highlighting the program as a form of the company's participation and commitment to supporting and contributing to the community through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
"On behalf of the local government and the people of Bangka Regency, I extend my deepest gratitude to PT Timah Tbk for their efforts in making this program a success," he added.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SDN 14 Sungailiat, Rohana, shared her gratitude and joy for her school being chosen as a recipient of the program.
"The children are thrilled with the nutritious meal program, and some have even asked if it could be held daily. We are deeply moved because our school, SDN 14 Sungailiat, has rarely been noticed by companies for initiatives like this," she remarked.
The nutritious meal program not only supports the health of students but also demonstrates PT Timah Tbk's commitment to community welfare.
Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, noted that the program has been implemented in several regions, including East Belitung and Central Bangka.
"This program aligns with the initiative of President Prabowo Subianto to enhance public health and fulfill children's nutritional needs. PT Timah is proud to play a role in the success of this program by collaborating with local governments in each region," Anggi explained. (*)
