No Need to Worry About the Cost, 108 Children in Central Bangka Receive Free Circumcisions Through PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Program

CENTRAL BANGKA -- As part of the Community Service Month celebrating the 50th Anniversary of PT TIMAH Tbk, the company continues to deliver meaningful benefits to local communities. This time, 108 children in Central Bangka Regency received free circumcision services at the Selawang Multipurpose Hall (GSG) in Koba, Central Bangka Regency, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

The mass circumcision program is part of PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, held under the theme "Tin for the People" and carried out across the company’s operational areas. In addition to the circumcision program, PT TIMAH also provided free health checkups and organized a blood donation drive.

Beyond improving access to children's healthcare services, PT TIMAH’s Community Service Month also helped ease the financial burden on families, as parents did not have to pay for their children's circumcision procedures.

The strong public response was reflected in the total number of participants, which reached 108 children—surpassing the initial target of 100 participants.

Many parents expressed their gratitude for the free circumcision program. One of them was Wana, who accompanied her son, Haikal, to participate in the event.

She said she was delighted that her son could undergo the procedure at no cost. Even better, Haikal experienced little to no pain during the circumcision.

"We're extremely happy about this program. Everything was free, and my son was happy too because he didn't feel any pain," Wana said.

A similar sentiment was shared by Nurmala, who accompanied her son, Rapael. Before the procedure, she admitted she had been nervous and worried that her son would experience significant pain.

However, those concerns proved unfounded. Rapael remained calm throughout the procedure and felt well afterward.

"I was the one who was nervous, but my son was completely fine. He even said he felt fresh afterward and didn't feel any pain—just a little scared at first," Nurmala said.

For Nurmala, the free mass circumcision program not only provided easier access to healthcare services but also helped reduce her family's financial burden.

According to her, circumcision procedures at private clinics can cost up to millions of rupiah, making them difficult for many families to afford under current economic conditions.

"We're very grateful because having a circumcision elsewhere can cost quite a lot of money, which is a heavy burden given today's economic situation. Thankfully, there's a program like this," she said.

Central Bangka Deputy Regent Efrianda praised the strong public participation in the mass circumcision program organized by PT TIMAH.

He noted that the high turnout was particularly impressive, considering the event took place while children were still attending school.

"Even though the event was held during the school term, the initial target was 100 participants, yet an impressive 108 children registered," Efrianda said.

He added that the mass circumcision program, as part of PT TIMAH's 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, reflects the company's genuine commitment to social responsibility and community welfare in Central Bangka.

"Today's Community Service Month activities clearly demonstrate that the spirit of giving and social responsibility continues to be an integral part of PT TIMAH's journey. The Central Bangka Regency Government sincerely appreciates the company's continued commitment," he concluded. (*)
