PANGKALPINANG -- Annida Shafa Mahfudzah, a student from Belitung Island, graduated with an outstanding academic achievement, earning a near-perfect GPA of 3.96 or magna cum laude from the Belitung Nursing Diploma Program at Poltekkes Kemenkes Pangkalpinang.
Her remarkable academic success not only made her the top graduate but also opened doors to blessings she had never imagined.
As a form of appreciation, PT TIMAH Tbk awarded her education funding to continue her studies to the Bachelor’s degree and on to the professional level.
In addition to receiving education funding from PT TIMAH Tbk, this outstanding graduate was immediately offered a job at PT Bakti Timah Medika and placed at Bakti Timah Hospital Pangkalpinang shortly after graduation. For her, this achievement is an unexpected blessing and proof that hard work truly pays off.
Nida, as she is commonly known, never expected that her dedication throughout her studies would lead to such meaningful rewards. She said she felt deeply moved and grateful for the trust given by PT TIMAH Tbk through both the education support and the swift career opportunity.
Initially, she had planned to postpone further studies due to financial limitations. She even considered working first to save money for her education. But unexpectedly, both opportunities arrived at the same time.
“I didn’t expect it—really didn’t expect it. I just graduated today. I was planning to return to Tanjungpandan to look for work so I could save up for college. But today, I was given the chance and trust by PT TIMAH Tbk to continue my studies, and the hospital also offered me a job,” she said emotionally at PT TIMAH Tbk’s office on Friday (November 21, 2025).
The youngest of four siblings, she said she never set a goal of becoming the top graduate. She simply tried her best—completing assignments on time, staying focused, actively consulting with lecturers, and striving to make her family proud.
“At first, I wanted to study outside Belitung, but my parents only had enough money for me to study here. So, I chose nursing. As I went through it, I realized it was interesting. I enjoyed it, I didn’t delay assignments, and I often consulted with lecturers. Alhamdulillah, I never expected that out of so many graduates, I would be one of the top ones,” she said.
For her, everything she achieved feels like a dream she never imagined. Yet she remains motivated to keep learning and developing her potential.
“I have strong motivation and a passion for learning. This opportunity motivates me even more. My deepest thanks to PT TIMAH Tbk and RSBT for giving me the chance to work and continue my studies,” she said.
PT TIMAH Tbk provided the education funding as recognition for the exceptional achievement of this student from Belitung. This support is part of the company’s commitment to improving the quality of human resources, especially among young people in its operational areas.
The company hopes her accomplishment will inspire students across Bangka Belitung to continue striving, achieving, and contributing positively to the region.
“This is a form of appreciation from the company for outstanding young talents from Bangka Belitung, especially those who achieve very high GPAs. PT TIMAH Tbk is providing education support to help her continue her studies,” said Anggi Siahaan, Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH Tbk.

Vice President of Human Capital and General Affairs of PT Bakti Timah Medika, Dr. Firmansyah, MARS, said that one way to improve service quality is by recruiting academically accomplished individuals who are expected to deliver optimal care to the public.
“She is the top graduate from Poltekkes Pangkalpinang, and we need the best academically so we can further develop their skills with the goal of improving hospital services,” he said.
