National OHS Month Celebration at PT Timah’s South Bangka Area: Safety Drill and Ceremony

SOUTH BANGKA – The 2025 National Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Month celebrations at PT Timah Tbk continue, with the latest event held at Tambang Besar Paku, South Bangka Regency, on February 5, 2025.

PT Timah’s South Bangka Area Division organized various activities to raise awareness about the importance of OHS implementation in the workplace.

The commemorative ceremony was led by Sigit Prabowo, Division Head of the South Bangka Area, and attended by key stakeholders, including Pangestu Budi Santoso from the Directorate of Technical and Environmental Affairs for Minerals and Coal, representatives from the South Bangka Manpower and Transmigration Office, Payung Police Chief, and the Acting Head of Paku Village. All South Bangka Area Division employees participated in the event.

During the ceremony, Sigit read the official address from the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, emphasizing the importance of fostering a strong OHS culture in every aspect of the company's operations.

The series of National OHS Month activities at PT Timah’s South Bangka Area included fire extinguisher (APAR) usage drills and a simulated implementation of effective mining safety management.

The company also recognized outstanding teams by presenting awards to the Land Mining Operations Supervision Team, Offshore Mining Operations Supervision Team, Operational Safety Team, and Best Operational Responsible Officer (PJO).

The event received high appreciation from Pangestu Budi Santoso, S.T., an Inspector from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (KESDM) for the Bangka Belitung Province.

“We highly appreciate PT Timah Tbk, especially the South Bangka Area, for successfully organizing the 2025 National OHS Month celebrations. This event is not just a ceremonial activity but a real commitment to enhancing workplace safety. We hope PT Timah Tbk continues to strengthen its OHS culture to achieve Zero Accidents and Zero Fatalities in 2025,” he stated.

The National OHS Month commemoration is being held across PT Timah’s operational areas, featuring various activities such as safety seminars, emergency response training, distribution of basic necessities, and health services for the community.
