PANGKALPINANG – The Bangka Belitung BUMN House collaborated with PT Timah to hold an MSME bazaar at the Graha Timah Building's corridor in Pangkalpinang, on Tuesday (October 8, 2024).
This MSME bazaar was held with the event 'Empowering Local Brands, Enhancing MSME Competitiveness Based on Sustainability and Going Global,' organized by the Bangka Belitung BUMN House and several BUMN companies.
PT Timah employees enthusiastically shopped for MSME products, which MSMEs showcased from the Belitung BUMN House, Koba BUMN House, South Bangka BUMN House, Pangkalpinang BUMN House, and Bangka BUMN House.
It's no wonder the MSME products showcased in this bazaar were swarmed by employees. Many even bought up the available food and beverage products.
The products marketed at this MSME Bazaar included food and beverages, handicrafts, fashion items, and a variety of other products.
One PT Timah employee, Dwi Hastuti, didn’t want to miss the opportunity to buy the wide array of food sold at the bazaar.
She mentioned that the products offered were diverse and the prices were affordable.
"The products are varied and are things we consume daily, so I was interested in coming to shop. The prices are also cheaper, and it’s convenient since we don’t have to leave the office," said Dwi.
She hopes that MSME bazaars like this can be held regularly so that employees can continue to support MSMEs.
"It would be great if this bazaar could be held regularly so that those who couldn't come today will have another chance. Hopefully, more products will be offered next time, providing employees a better opportunity to shop for MSME products," she added.
The same was echoed by Ade, another employee who also shopped for various MSME products.
"Buying MSME products helps move the community’s economy. Plus, since the products are sold within the office area, it’s easier to make purchases," he said.
One of PT Timah’s MSME partners, Kurnia Ningsih, sold her brand KN. Way Tea at the bazaar, stated that her sales tripled during the event.
At this bazaar, she sold various drinks such as solo tea, rosella tea, and green tea.
"The enthusiasm was amazing, and our sales tripled compared to regular days. We hope that bazaars like this are held regularly because they truly benefit MSMEs like us," said Nia, as she is commonly called.
According to Nia, MSMEs still heavily depend on events like this to boost their sales, especially during a time when the economy remains unstable.
The CEO of the Bangka Belitung BUMN House, Rudi Darwin, mentioned that PT Timah employees' enthusiasm for buying MSME products was very high, as evidenced by the large number of MSME products from various BUMN Houses being sold.
"In just two hours, almost 50 percent of the MSME products displayed were sold out. PT Timah employees showed incredible enthusiasm in shopping. Bazaars like this are one way to help promote MSME products," he said.
According to him, besides helping to market and promote MSME products, the BUMN House also plays a role in providing training and assisting MSMEs in obtaining legal certifications. (*)
