WEST BANGKA - To drive the economy of the people in Benteng Kota, Tempilang District, West Bangka Regency. PT Timah Tbk empowers Karang Taruna Benteng Kota by providing chicken, duck and fish seeds.
These chicken, catfish, and duck seeds were handed over to the Head of the Benteng Kota Youth Organization at the Benteng Kota Village Office, Thursday (17/3/2022).
"The purpose of breeding chickens, ducks and fish is to improve and develop the economy of the Benteng Kota area and to carry out positive activities for youth groups," said the Head of the Benteng Kota Taruna Youth Organization.
According to him, his party chose to raise chickens, ducks, and catfish because these nurseries are relatively easy to do.
"We decided to breed chickens, ducks, and catfish because these animals are relatively easy to care for and raise," he said.
He said the proceeds from the nursery will be sold and used to build other businesses.
“After the nursery can produce, we will use the income to build other businesses for youth organizations. We don't want to just stop here, because we will continue to carry out useful activities to build the Kota Benteng area,” he said.
Currently, he said, the Benteng Kota Youth Organization really needs help from PT Timah Tbk to be able to carry out activities like this. He hopes that their efforts will be of benefit to the community.
“We really need help from PT Timah to facilitate the positive activities we want to do. This kind of assistance shows that PT Timah has a very good role to play in supporting things like this," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Benteng Kota Village, Saprul appreciated the support that was always given by PT Timah Tbk for the people of Benteng Kota.
“I am very grateful to PT Timah for always supporting our village programs, one of which is the youth organization. PT Timah has helped our community a lot, such as free medical treatment for healthy cars, mutual cooperation vaccines, sick assistance, and so on,” he said.*
