EAST BELITUNG -- A look of happiness was clearly seen on the face of Matarudin (67), the caretaker of Al Falah Mosque, as he attended the Safari Ramadan 1447 Hijri event organized by PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk in Gantung District, East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.
During the event, Matarudin was one of the mosque caretakers who received assistance, which was handed over directly by PT TIMAH Tbk Commissioner Yuslih Ihza, Director of Operations Handy Geniardi, Director of Human Resources Ratih Mayasari, and Division Head of the Belitung Area Feriandi on Friday (6/3/2026).
For Matarudin, the invitation to break the fast together while receiving assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk became a joyful moment during the holy month of Ramadan.
He said he was happy to be able to attend the event, which also served as an opportunity to strengthen ties between PT TIMAH and communities around the company’s operational areas.
“Alhamdulillah, I feel very happy to be invited to this Safari Ramadan event. Especially as Eid approaches like now, it certainly brings its own happiness for me,” he said.
Matarudin has dedicated himself as the caretaker of Al Falah Mosque for nearly ten years. Since the age of 57, he has carried out the responsibility of maintaining and keeping the mosque clean so that it remains comfortable for the community to perform their prayers.
As a mosque caretaker, he admitted that the income he receives is not always sufficient to meet daily needs. Therefore, the assistance provided by PT TIMAH is very meaningful to him.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the company’s concern for the community, especially for those who take care of houses of worship.
“Thank you to PT TIMAH for caring about us mosque caretakers. This is not the first time I have received assistance from PT TIMAH. Hopefully PT TIMAH will always be given smooth operations in managing tin in the Bangka Belitung Islands and continue to provide benefits to the community,” he said.
Through the Safari Ramadan event, PT TIMAH not only strengthens its relationship with the community but also demonstrates real care for various groups, including mosque caretakers who play an important role in keeping houses of worship active as centers of religious activities in the community.
