More Than Just a Health Checkup, PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Program Helps Residents Detect Health Issues Early

CENTRAL BANGKA -- The Community Service Month held in celebration of PT TIMAH Tbk’s 50th Anniversary is more than just an occasion to give back, it also delivers tangible health benefits to communities across the company’s operational areas.

Through its free healthcare services, PT TIMAH provided complimentary medical checkups for residents as part of its 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, held at the Koba Multipurpose Hall in Central Bangka Regency on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

A total of 135 residents took advantage of the service. The health screenings included blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checks. The program is part of the company's efforts to help communities better understand their health conditions while raising awareness about the importance of early disease detection.

Early detection plays a vital role in maintaining good health. By identifying potential health issues at an early stage, people can take preventive measures sooner or receive timely medical treatment if any health concerns are detected.

This was the experience of Lilis (24), one of the residents who benefited from PT TIMAH’s free healthcare service. She said the program was extremely helpful because it gave community members the opportunity to learn about health indicators that many had never checked regularly before.

"We're very grateful for this free health screening service. Before this, we didn't know our blood sugar, cholesterol, or blood pressure levels. Now we have a much better understanding of our health," she said.

In addition to the medical examinations, Lilis also praised the friendliness and professionalism of the healthcare team, from the registration staff to the doctors and pharmacists.

"As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with warm smiles and guided to the registration desk to receive our queue numbers. The doctors and pharmacists also treated us with great care," she added.

Similar appreciation was expressed by Resti (20), another participant in the health screening program. She said the free healthcare service provides meaningful benefits to the community, particularly by encouraging people to pay closer attention to their health.

According to her, initiatives like this should continue so that even more people can benefit from the services provided.

"I hope this free healthcare program continues and continues to bring benefits to the community," she said.

In addition to the free health services, PT TIMAH’s 50th Anniversary Community Service Month, held under the theme "Tin for the People," also featured a blood donation drive and a mass circumcision program for the people of Central Bangka. (*)
