BANGKA -- During the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk distributed hundreds of basic food packages to residents in Bangka Regency. The symbolic handover of assistance was carried out during the company’s Ramadan Safari event held in Pemali on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
This program is part of PT TIMAH’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) commitment to support communities in its operational areas, particularly in helping meet essential needs while observing the fasting month.
The food packages were symbolically handed over by the President Director of PT TIMAH Tbk, Restu Widiyantoro; the Director of Finance and Risk Management, Fina Eliani; and the Director of Operations, Hendy Geniardi.
The distributed food assistance is expected to help ease the burden on residents, especially in meeting their food needs during Ramadan.
In addition to the distribution of food packages, the Ramadan Safari series in Pemali also included various other social activities, such as donations for orphans, assistance for Quran teachers and mosque caretakers, and scholarships for Tahfiz Quran students.
Head of Taruna Setia Hamlet in Pemali Village, Hiliyan, said that the food packages provided by PT TIMAH were prioritized for elderly residents and widows, so they could better meet their daily food needs.
“For this food assistance, we prioritize elderly residents and widows, so they can be supported. This is indeed a routine program carried out by PT TIMAH to help the community,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Arnimi (63), said she was very happy to receive the food package from PT TIMAH. For her, the assistance can cover her family’s food needs for two weeks.
“This really helps us financially, especially with the current economic situation. Alhamdulillah, with the assistance from PT TIMAH, we can meet our basic needs for food,” she said.
Going forward, she hopes PT TIMAH will continue to show its concern for elderly residents like them. She also prayed that the company would continue to thrive so it can keep contributing to the community.
