PANGKALPINANG — PT Timah continues to demonstrate its commitment to giving back to the community by organizing various social initiatives, including assisting orphans.
During its Halal Bihalal gathering, the company extended donations to dozens of orphans in Pangkalpinang City. The donations were personally handed over by Deputy President Director of MIND ID, Dany Amrul Ichdan, together with PT Timah’s Board of Commissioners and Directors at Graha Timah on Wednesday evening (April 23, 2025).
Yuta (11), one of the beneficiaries of PT Timah’s orphan donation program, said he plans to save the money he received to buy a smartphone to help him with his studies.
“I’m happy. I’m going to use the donation to buy a phone for school because we use phones a lot for learning now,” said the elementary student from SD Negeri 38 Pangkalpinang.
Likewise, Alen (16), another beneficiary from the Annisa Orphanage, expressed her gratitude and joy upon receiving the support, which she said will be used for her school needs.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m happy. I’ve also received help from PT Timah before. I’ll use the donation for school expenses,” she said.
“I hope PT Timah continues to grow and succeed, and that it can keep helping children like us,” she added.
During the recent Ramadan, PT Timah also carried out a series of social initiatives such as donations to orphans, distribution of food packages, support for Quran memorizers (tahfiz), religious teachers, assistance for houses of worship, support for religious holiday camps (pesantren kilat), and communal iftars with local communities, religious leaders, and stakeholders.
In total, PT Timah supported 1,220 orphans, 6,375 food packages, 2 pesantren kilat programs, 20 religious teachers, 7 tahfiz Quran students with scholarships, 8 houses of worship with aid (*)
