WEST BANGKA -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, supported a mass circumcision event for residents of Air Gantang Village, West Bangka Regency.
The mass circumcision program is an annual social initiative organized by the Air Gantang Village Government. PT TIMAH's support reflects the company's ongoing commitment to contributing to community-based social programs.
Air Gantang Village Secretary, Eka Wulandari, said that the mass circumcision program has been held annually since 2017 and continues to receive an enthusiastic response from the community.
This year, 30 children, ranging from preschoolers to fourth-grade elementary school students, participated in the event, with medical services provided by the Puput Community Health Center (Puskesmas).
According to Eka, the program not only provides essential healthcare services for children but also helps ease the financial burden on families, especially amid ongoing economic challenges faced by many households.
"The annual mass circumcision program is always welcomed enthusiastically by the community. It greatly helps reduce the financial burden on families during these challenging economic times," Eka said.
She added that PT TIMAH's annual support has played an important role in ensuring the smooth implementation of the program. The company's assistance is used to help cover various operational needs for the event.
Eka expressed her hope that PT TIMAH will continue supporting social and humanitarian activities in Air Gantang Village. She emphasized that contributions from various stakeholders have a meaningful impact on the local community.
"We hope PT TIMAH will continue supporting humanitarian and social initiatives, including our traditional community events and annual mass circumcision program in Air Gantang Village. We wish PT TIMAH continued success and hope the company will keep bringing positive benefits to our community," she said.
