KUNDUR -- PT Timah Tbk once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting religious activities in the community by providing assistance to places of worship. This time, support was given to Masjid Nurul Janah in Kundur Village.
The assistance, distributed through PT Timah’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, was utilized by the mosque management for the construction of a fence and the installation of paving blocks around the mosque area.
The Chairman of Masjid Nurul Janah’s management, Surbakti, explained that the mosque committee submitted a proposal to PT Timah after receiving information from the village officials.
“Alhamdulillah, this support has been very helpful. The fence on the northern side of the mosque, which directly borders the road, has now been built, adding both security and beauty. Previously, most of the mosque’s funds were allocated for operational needs such as providing incentives for the imam, so building the fence and paving blocks became a priority,” said Surbakti.
The people of Kundur Village, who mostly work as fishermen, farmers, and rubber tappers, warmly welcomed the assistance. As a gesture of gratitude, residents and mosque administrators held a prayer gathering and expressed their appreciation to PT Timah.
“The community is very grateful for PT Timah’s attention. We even sent a video of the thanksgiving prayer to the company,” added Surbakti.
He also conveyed prayers and hopes for PT Timah’s continued growth and contributions to the community.
“May PT Timah continue to succeed, with abundant production, and may the company always be granted health and safety. Our hope is that the blessings received by the company will also bring positive impacts to the community,” he said.
This support reflects PT Timah’s commitment to contributing to the development of houses of worship and strengthening harmonious relations with communities in the company’s operational areas.
