PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah Tbk once again received recognition at the 2025 BAZNAS Awards from the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Indonesia as the best partner in employee zakat management.

The award was presented directly by the Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA., to PT Timah Tbk’s representative during the 2025 BAZNAS National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) held in Jakarta on Thursday (August 28, 2025).

Previously, PT Timah Tbk also received recognition at the 2024 BAZNAS Awards. Through its UPZ (Zakat Management Unit) BAZNAS PT Timah Tbk, the company has continued to promote literacy about zakat among employees.

The 2025 BAZNAS Awards is an appreciation for various parties considered contributors in driving zakat through strengthening the management of zakat, infak (charity), and sedekah (almsgiving). With the theme “Strengthening BAZNAS, Supporting Asta Cita,” the award emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and society in building community welfare.

Chairman of BAZNAS RI, Prof. Dr. KH. Noor Achmad, MA., expressed his high appreciation to all award recipients. He highlighted that the contributions of zakat advocates play a vital role in the propagation of zakat, bringing widespread benefits to society.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all partners and BAZNAS leaders across Indonesia for what you have done so far. What we have accomplished together has become an important part of zakat propagation that is truly remarkable,” said Kiai Noor, as quoted from the official BAZNAS website.

According to him, the award is not just a symbol but a recognition of the hard work carried out across various regions. This year, the award was presented to 906 recipients working in different fields.

Kiai Noor added that BAZNAS applies strict selection to determine the recipients. Each was assessed based on their dedication, impact, and contributions to the community.

“What we do is also part of our effort to carefully evaluate what you have accomplished. Out of more than a thousand proposals, we finally selected 906 recipients,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of UPZ BAZNAS PT Timah Tbk, Rendi Kurniawan, expressed gratitude for the award. He emphasized that UPZ BAZNAS PT Timah Tbk remains committed to transparent and effective employee zakat management.

“We are grateful for this award from BAZNAS RI. We believe zakat can serve as an important instrument in building community self-reliance. Therefore, PT Timah will continue to enhance its contribution so that the benefits of zakat can reach more people and support community welfare,” said Rendi.

Previously, UPZ PT Timah had implemented various zakat programs that improved community economic conditions. For instance, dozens of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) recently received business capital assistance and tents to support their business growth toward independence.

PT Timah also provides education and literacy on zakat management through UPZ BAZNAS PT Timah webinars.

The BAZNAS Award serves as recognition of PT Timah’s consistency in carrying out corporate governance that is not only business-oriented but also delivers social value for the wider community. (*)
