Maintaining the Quality of Employee Health, PT TIMAH Routinely Conducts Health Examinations and Promotion Programs

PANGKALPINANG – Occupational health and safety (K3) is a crucial aspect of industrial operations, especially for companies committed to creating safe and healthy work environments. PT Timah has demonstrated its dedication to employee well-being by implementing comprehensive workplace safety and health programs.

As part of the MIND ID mining industry holding, PT Timah ensures a safe working environment to boost employee productivity. A key element of this effort is the company's routine health check program. PT Timah provides various health services for its employees, including general health check-ups, specialized examinations for those with serious or high-risk conditions, and final health screenings for employees nearing retirement.

Each year, PT Timah mandates that all employees undergo at least one medical check-up (MCU), which includes an array of tests such as anamnesis, physical exams, laboratory assessments, EKG, treadmill tests, and specialized exams like spirometry and audiometry. The health screenings also cover fitness tests and mental health assessments.

These regular check-ups are crucial for early detection of potential health issues, particularly those related to the workplace. By identifying risks early, the company can take preventive measures before conditions worsen.

PT Timah also provides ergonomic assessments, health education, and fatigue evaluations regularly to maintain employees' overall well-being. Onsite clinics are available at work locations during business hours, and the company has established partnerships with local hospitals and clinics to extend medical services.

In addition to health checks, PT Timah promotes various wellness programs to raise employee awareness about the importance of personal health management in and out of the workplace. These programs are designed to enhance the overall health quality of workers regularly.

"Throughout 2023, PT Timah identified no work-related illnesses based on the routine health checks conducted by the K3LH Division," said Anggi Siahaan, PT Timah's Head of Corporate Communications.

Anggi further emphasized that the company's commitment to employee health and safety protects workers from potential workplace accidents and health issues and fosters a more productive work environment.

"The health of our employees is a valuable asset for the company. Through these initiatives, we strive to ensure that every employee can work safely, healthily, and comfortably, boosting productivity," Anggi concluded. (*)
