KUNDUR -- Pencak Silat is one of Indonesia's intangible cultural heritages. But unfortunately, the popularity of martial arts is not as famous as it used to be. To maintain the existence of this intangible cultural heritage, PT Timah Tbk, the Kundur Production Unit, visited the Tapak Sakti Pencak Silat College.
The Tapak Sakti Pencak Silat College is one of the Pencak Silat colleges that is still active today and has quite a lot of members in the Karimun Regency.
To support the Tapak Sakti Pencak Silat College, members of the Indonesian mining industry holding MIND ID handed over assistance to support the Tapak Sakti Pencak Silat College to take part in Pencak Silat tournaments and improve training facilities.
The head of the Tapak Sakti Pencak Silat College, Bambang, told that he and several other administrators were trying to maintain the original culture of Indonesia because now many martial arts sports from all over the world have entered Indonesia.

With the support from companies such as PT Timah Tbk, he said it would raise the enthusiasm of university members to maintain this sport and make achievements in various championships.
"With this assistance, the members practice more actively to get even better achievements than before. Because apart from protecting themselves, Pencak Silat is also a sport and also an effort to protect cultural heritage," he stated.
