WEST BANGKA – PT Timah continues to support environmental management programs, including by providing cleanliness facilities and infrastructure for the community.
On various occasions, PT Timah has supported community cleanliness initiatives by donating trash bins, grass-cutting tools, and other resources to communities within its operational areas.
This time, PT Timah’s Finance Director, Fina Eliani, delivered dozens of trash bins for residents in Teluk Rubiah, Tanjung Subdistrict, West Bangka Regency.
The assistance was handed over by Fina Eliani during the Jalan Sehat Bersama Insan Timah event to Head of RW VI, Syarifudin, accompanied by the head of RT 01 and community leaders, at Al Istiqomah Prayer House in Teluk Rubiah, on Monday morning, October 28, 2024.
Syarifudin, the Head of RW VI, stated that the trash bins would be used for public facilities and nearby residents.
"Alhamdulillah, PT Timah has provided 30 trash bins for the residents of Teluk Rubiah. We thank PT Timah for supporting our community. We hope that with these trash bins, the environment will be cleaner and healthier," he said.
Nurmaniah, head of RT 01 RW 06 in Teluk Rubiah, expressed that PT Timah often shows its care for the community by frequently providing various forms of assistance.
"Alhamdulillah, besides the trash bins, we recently received support for a gateway entrance, which will be part of the access road to Tanjung Pakdan. PT Timah has provided a lot of help, from mangrove planting to Independence Day celebrations. PT Timah has always supported what we need and what benefits the community," said Nurmaniah.
PT Timah Tbk’s Finance and Risk Management Director, Fina Eliani, mentioned that the trash bin assistance aims to foster a 5R Culture (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Redesign, Repurpose) and educate the community on environmental management within the company’s operational areas.
"With these trash bins, we hope it becomes easier for the community to collect waste, ensuring a cleaner environment. This initiative is part of PT Timah’s efforts to foster a 5R culture not only within PT Timah but also among the community. We hope this collaboration will continue in the future," she added. (*)
