CENTRAL BANGKA – Lia (40) felt happiness, sadness, and emotion when she received a wheelchair from PT Timah Tbk for her son Sri Wulandari (16) at her house in Simpang Katis Village, Simpang Katis District, Central Bangka Regency.
Lia said her daughter has been a person with disabilities since he was young. She couldn't walk so if she wanted to go anywhere she had to be carried.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm very happy to get this wheelchair assistance, so far it's been a bit difficult because if you want to go to the bathroom you have to be carried and you can't be left alone, we just have to feed you food," she said.
With the help of this wheelchair, she said, it would be very easy for her to take care of her baby. Especially when she wants to go out she no longer needs to carry her.
"It really helps with this assistance, especially since we don't have to carry her anymore, besides that if you want to take her for a walk around the house it's already comfortable with this wheelchair," she said.
Meanwhile, Simpang Village head Katis Hermanto was pleased with the assistance from PT Timah Tbk.
"We are very grateful for the CSR assistance provided to one of our residents, in which our residents have been disabled since childhood," he said.
He hopes that PT Timah Tbk through CSR can continue to help its citizens so that more and more people are helped.
"We hope that in the future PT Timah will still be able to help our residents. Because there are still our citizens who need these wheelchairs. Apart from that, we hope that other assistance can also be distributed to our residents," he hoped. (*)
