KSAD Dudung Abdurachman Witness the Signing of the MoU of PT Timah Tbk with the Indonesian Army

PANGKALPINANG -- In order to strengthen territorial development in the Mining Business License Area of ??PT Timah Tbk in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, PT Timah Tbk entered into a joint agreement with the Indonesian National Army.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by the President Director of PT Timah Tbk Achmad Ardianto and the Territorial Assistant to the Army Chief of Staff Major General Karmin Suharna, witnessed by the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman at Graha Timah Pangkalpinang, Friday (19/8/2022).

This MoU is also intended to
create a safe situation and conditions as well as a conducive business atmosphere in the tin mining sector in the PT Timah Tbk Mining Business License Area.

Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurrachman in his speech said the MoU between the Army and PT Timah Tbk is in order to help BUMN to run the company's operations.

"This MoU is in the context of the Army's assistance to SOEs in this case PT Timah Tbk in terms of reforestation and aspects of security issues," he said.

He said that later this MoU could be followed up by Korem 045 Gaya to help secure the operations of PT Timah Tbk.

"I hope that the Korem here can contribute directly to efforts to increase production of PT Timah Tbk. Please collaborate with PT Timah Tbk," he said.

Furthermore, Dudung conveyed, that by becoming one of the SOEs that was able to support state income. He hopes that in the future PT Timah Tbk will be more advanced and professional in management and performance so that it will become a shared pride.

"Hopefully after this MoU, there will be efforts to increase production of PT Timah Tbk including environmental stabilization," he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT Timah Tbk Achmad Ardianto on this occasion explained the Indonesian Tin Ecosystem as a solution to revamping the Indonesian tin mining industry that has been offered to various stakeholders.

"An upstream-downstream tin industry ecosystem in Indonesia that is oriented towards the future use of tin metal and has a global impact. An ecosystem of the tin industry that is advanced, equitable, and provides optimal benefits for the actors while still affirming the state's control over the management and utilization of natural resources," he said.

He said the Indonesian tin ecosystem would guarantee five things, first; people's tin miners can operate legally and get guidance from business actors, secondly; private companies that comply with regulations can take part and operate in the Indonesian tin ecosystem.

Third; an increase in taxes and PNBP for the state so that the contribution of tin to the state is optimal. Fourth, Indonesia has the opportunity to become an effective tin price determinant. The five environments will be more maintained because all tin operational activities will be controlled and the environment will be maintained.

"With this MoU, we hope for support and strengthening, what we are doing is maximizing the presence of tin for the country. We hope that the Army can synergize with PT Timah Tbk for the sake of contributing to the country," he said. (**)
