Kampoeng Reclamation Selinsing is Flooded with Tourists During School Holidays

EAST BELITUNG – Selinsing Reclamation Village is one of the most popular places for family recreation. During school holidays, for example, public interest in visiting tourist destinations managed by PT Timah Tbk with the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) Selinsing increased significantly.

This tourist area that carries the concept of agro-edu tourism is a former mining area that has been transformed into an attractive tourist destination. Visitors can see directly agriculture, animal husbandry, plantations, and can enjoy water tourism.

During this holiday season, every day tourists visiting Kampoeng Reclamation Selinsing can reach 50-100 people, while on weekends visitors can reach around 500 people.

The head of Selinsing BUMDes, Diki Apriansyah, said that the number of visits was quite high, as evidenced by the number of tickets sold. They apply a tariff of IDR 3,000/ticket for visitors who come.

The imposition of this tariff is so that they can continue to develop the Selinsing Kampong Reclamation tourist area, so that there are always new ones and carry out maintenance.

"A tariff is imposed because it is for area development and maintenance, apart from that, from Rp. 3000, Rp. 1500 will go into the BUMDes treasury. After deducting the ticket clerk's wages and ticket printing costs. Alhamdulillah, Bumdes income from tickets can be managed again for the preparation of other facilities," said Diki.

He said the Selinsing Reclamation Village tour was opened at 13.00 WIB until before sunset. Many people come to this area for recreation and for taking selfies.

"The visits per day can be 5-100 people, if Saturday and Sunday are crowded it can be up to 500 people who come," he said.

Diki explained that the visitors who came were not only local people. But from Belitung Regency and even outside the region in large groups.

"At one time someone came directly using four buses at once from Tanjungpandan," said Diki.

According to Diki, the increasing number of visits to the Selinsing Reclamation Village indicates that the Selingsing Reclamation Village has become known to the public and has become a worthy tourist destination to visit as a family recreation area.

"We provide a canteen for visitors and water rides as well as interesting photo spots. In the future it will also be expanded with other facilities with more attractive arrangements," he said.*
