Join the PT Timah Scholarship Class Program Selection, Rizki Rahmadi from Riau Has Been Preparing for a Long Time

PANGKALPINANG -- A number of students from Riau Province and the Riau Islands Province who passed the administrative and field survey selection for the PT Timah Scholarship Class Program at SMAN 1 Pemali appeared focused as they took part in the Academic Potential Test, Psychological Test, Interviews, Clinical Psychology Evaluation, and Document Validation held at Asialink Easy by Prasanthi Batam on Saturday (May 10, 2025).

One of the participants, Rizki Rahmadi, shared that he had been preparing well in advance to take part in the selection process.

"I'm grateful to be able to join this test. I'm happy, but it’s actually quite difficult. Still, everything went smoothly because I had prepared myself, including mentally, physically, and academically," he said.

He hopes to pass the selection process to receive an educational scholarship from PT Timah, which would help ease the financial burden on his parents.

"I really hope to get accepted because everything is free, and if I’m selected, I will study very seriously. I want to make my parents proud, and I hope this can be a pathway to my success," he said.

Similarly, Aufal, a student from MTsN 1 Meranti, Kepulauan Meranti, expressed his strong hope to be accepted into the Pemali Boarding School Program by PT Timah.

"SMAN 1 Pemali is one of the best schools in Bangka Belitung, and we came here with the goal of learning and achieving, building character, mastering knowledge, and caring for the environment. I believe I can grow my knowledge there with the support of many parties," he said.

Meanwhile, Veronika, one of the students' parents, mentioned that her child had been preparing for the selection process at PT Timah's Pemali Boarding School Program.

"Everything went smoothly, thank God. As parents, we support and pray that our child will pass," she said.

She hopes that if her child is accepted, the program will help build stronger character, increase independence, and drive continuous academic achievement.

"I hope PT Timah continues to thrive and that programs like this can be sustainable because we truly feel the support provided—everything from accommodation to test arrangements has been facilitated by PT Timah," she said.

In total, 63 students who passed the administrative and field survey selection are taking part in this second stage of selection, which is held from May 10–15, 2025.

The PT Timah Scholarship Class selection at SMAN 1 Pemali for the 2025/2026 academic year attracted 248 applicants, an increase from 211 students in 2024.

The Pemali Boarding School Program is part of PT Timah's commitment to improving the quality of education and providing opportunities for high-achieving students from low-income families to access quality education.

The selection process is rigorous and consists of two stages: administrative verification and direct home surveys of the candidates. The goal is to ensure that scholarship recipients truly meet the criteria in terms of academic performance and economic background.
