Members of the Indonesian mining holding MIND ID held a sharing session aimed at introducing the potential of the essential oil business for MSME players in Pangkalpinang City as a new economic resource that can be developed.

Bangka Belitung is one of the provinces that have many spices that can be developed for essential oil raw materials such as cloves, pepper, and broomsticks.

For this reason, this Issuer with the TINS ??Code presents the Founder and CEO of PT. Syailendra Bumi Investama Eliest Listiani is engaged in a Holding Company for farmers and essential oil refineries in Indonesia.

Through this Sharing Session, it is hoped will provide insight and knowledge for fostered partners who wish to engage in the essential oil business by utilizing their local potential.

Eliest Listiani, Founder and CEO of PT Syailendra Bumi Investama explained, the opportunity for the essential oil business is huge. Moreover, Bangka Belitung has the potential for spices and herbs of good quality.

She explained that essential oils are volatile oils or contain lots of terpenes and contain aromas obtained by distillation or distillation methods. This essential oil can also be obtained from all parts of plants such as roots, bark, twigs, leaves, and fruit depending on the type of tree.

“Plants in Indonesia have a lot of potentials to be used as essential oils. Because most plants in Indonesia contain tarpen elements and have aromas, plants containing these ingredients can be distilled and produce essential oils," Eliest explained.

According to her, currently, the business opportunity for essential oils is quite large because they are used for several industries such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, skincare, and pesticides.

She added consumers of essential oils are not only in the domestic market but also in the export market to Korea and several other countries. Apart from that, there is also a lot of potentials that can be developed for essential oils. Unfortunately, currently, there are not many essential oil activists.

Therefore, Eliest said that this business is quite promising and can become a new economic resource. However, this effort must be carried out diligently and in collaboration with various parties such as farmers, government, companies, and factories that use essential oils as raw materials for their products.

Essential oils have many derivative products that can increase their selling value, such as being made into perfumes, aromatherapy, and others.

One of PT Timah Tbk's fostered partners who took part in this sharing session, Kasmir said this activity was very useful and educational to add insight about essential oils. In addition, it can also increase income for MSMEs.

"This activity is very useful, we get new things that can be developed. It turns out that the orange peels that we threw away can be reprocessed into essential oils and have a sale value," he said.

In the same vein, Rahel, a fostered partner of PT Timah Tbk, who owns the Arum Wedah Serai business, said that she was familiar with essential oils but did not know if they could be developed into various products.

"I became interested in trying this because at first we only made citronella oil, it turns out that there are others that we can also develop," she said.

Recently, MIND ID Group Holding for the Indonesian Mining Industry also submitted a CSR for the Development of Potential Essential Oils to the Regional Government in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

This assistance is a stimulus to support the development of an alternative economy for the people of Bangka Belitung by developing the potential of essential oils.
