Therefore, PT Timah is fostering synergy with the media, supporting and enhancing the quality of journalists, as well as the sustainability of the media industry. PT Timah is building harmony with the media by supporting the enhancement of journalists' competencies through competency tests.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) in Bangka Belitung, Mohammad Fathurrakhman, stated that PT Timah has long been synergizing with PWI in various activities.
"PT Timah is one of the state-owned enterprises that contribute significantly to the activities of PWI, such as sponsoring PWI events, not only competency tests," said the man commonly known as Boy.
According to him, PT Timah's role in supporting Journalist Competency Tests is crucial in enhancing the competency of journalists.
"PT Timah often supports journalist competency tests, which greatly assist us journalists in improving the capacity and education of our colleagues, especially those in PWI Bangka Belitung," he said.
"With our 200 members spread across the cities and regencies in Bangka Belitung, who mostly have competency test certifications issued by the Press Council and PWI, this is also thanks to the continuous support from PT Timah," Boy added.
In the future, he hopes that PT Timah and PWI Bangka Belitung can continue to collaborate in supporting journalist education in Bangka Belitung. Additionally, they can collaborate in organizing various activities.
Furthermore, Boy mentioned that PWI, along with PT Timah, is also involved in environmental preservation activities such as mangrove planting.
"PWI Bangka Belitung appreciates the synergy of PT Timah in conducting activities with journalist friends, and our organization can operate smoothly," said Boy.
Meanwhile, Riki Fermana, as the Chairman of the Regional Board of Pro Journalists of Cyber Media (PJS), appreciates PT Timah's synergy with their organization.
"As the Chairman of the Regional Board of Pro Journalists of Cyber Media (PJS), one of the Professional Press Organizations in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, PT Timah has established good cooperation, and we feel that PT Timah always provides good communication and synergy," he said.
Riki gave an example of PT Timah and UPN Veteran Yogyakarta facilitating and supporting the implementation of the Junior Journalist Competency Test (UKW) for journalists affiliated with Press Organizations (PJS, PJID, and KBO Babel).
"We appreciate what PT Timah has done in developing journalist human resources towards competence, so it is hoped that journalists in Babel can carry out journalistic tasks based on ethical journalism principles and provide beneficial and accurate information to the Bangka Belitung community," he said.
He also hopes that PT Timah Tbk can continue synergizing with the PJS Babel Regional Board.
"What PT Timah has done in supporting journalists in Babel to participate in the UKW is part of the effort to build and improve the professionalism of journalists in Bangka Belitung, making them better and more ethical in carrying out their duties," he said.
In the future, he hopes that PT Timah can continue collaborating with Press Organizations to build professional human resources and competent journalists.
