WEST BANGKA -- The Indonesia Tin Museum (MTI) in Mentok often becomes a tourist attraction for those visiting Mentok, West Bangka Regency. The museum, managed by PT Timah Tbk, is a historical tourist destination that is worth a visit when in this area.
Just last weekend, the Indonesia Tin Museum in Mentok received a visit from 150 students from the Citra Internasional Institute Pangkalpinang on Sunday (17/12/2023).
West Bangka Regent Sukirman also attended the Indonesia Tin Museum in Mentok to welcome the arrival of students from the Citra Internasional Institute Pangkalpinang, who conducted a field study at several historical tourism objects in West Bangka Regency.
The President of the Student Council of the Citra Internasional Institute Pangkalpinang, Muhammad Fahmi, stated that they plan to help promote historical tourism in West Bangka through various platforms.
"So, we came here for a field trip to help boost tourism in Bangka Belitung, especially West Bangka. Later, we will promote it through social media and student forums. When it comes to historical tourism in Bangka Belitung, Mentok is the place," said Muhammad.
Regent of West Bangka, H. Sukirman, mentioned that West Bangka Regency has several excellent historical tourism potentials besides the Indonesia Tin Museum, such as Menumbing Guesthouse and Ranggam Guesthouse.
"Thank you for the visit. Here, we introduce the tourism spots in West Bangka. A few meters from MTI, we have Wilhelmina Park, Residen House, and others. We provide historical information because these students will be future leaders," said Sukirman. (*)
