PT Timah Tbk's commitment to carry out reclamation in all mining operational areas is not only based on fulfilling obligations in statutory regulations but also as a responsibility in efforts to improve the environmental ecosystem and mitigate world climate change.
Members of the MIND ID mining industry holding company continue to innovate in reclamation, such as in other forms. PT Timah Tbk integrates reclamation and tourism programs such as the AirANGKAng Reclamation Village and the Selinsing Reclamation Village.
PT Timah Tbk's reclamation in Kampoeng Air Panjang Reclamation and Selinsing Reclamation Village carries the concept of edu ecotourism. In this area, there are various areas such as livestock, agriculture, and also tourism.
Until the third quarter of 2023, the TINS ??issuer has carried out land reclamation of 273.73 hectares of ex-mining land in the company's operational area.
The realization of the reclamation of ex-mining land is around 68 percent of the 2023 reclamation plan or an area of ??400 hectares. The land reclamation carried out by PT Timah Tbk refers to the company's reclamation plan by carrying out revegetation or planting and reclamation in other forms.
In revegetation, PT Timah Tbk carried out planting and reforestation on post-mining land. For planting the selected plants are fruit plants such as oranges and avocados. Apart from that, the company also plants sengon trees, cashew nuts, and oil palms.
Meanwhile, for other forms of reclamation, PT Timah will carry out the structuring of ex-mining land according to community needs.
"The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also assessed the reclamation carried out by PT Timah Tbk. PT Timah Tbk in carrying out its reclamation also involved the community in the company's operational area so that it also had an economic impact on the community," said Head of PT Timah Tbk Corporate Communications, Anggi Siahaan.
