PANGKALPINANG --- PT Timah Tbk continues to strive to spread benefits to the community in operational areas through the distribution of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Throughout the first quarter of 2023, this member of the MIND ID mining industry holding channeled CSR funds of IDR 14.180 billion. In realizing CSR, MIND ID Mining Industry Holding members adopted the concept of sustainable development goals (TPB) or in the world known as Sustainable development goals or SDG.
PT Timah Tbk's distribution of social responsibility covers two main sectors, namely CSR and the Micro Small Business Funding program (PUMK). This program is distributed to operational areas such as Bangka Belitung Province, Riau Archipelago Province, Riau Province, and nationally.
This CSR program is then implemented in several fields such as health, environment, economy, community empowerment, infrastructure improvement, and education.
Several CSR programs carried out by PT Timah Tbk in the first quarter of 2023 such as a coral garden and fishing ground, community empowerment with pineapple badau, social security for fishermen, vulnerable and disabled groups, the Timah Teaching program 'Pesantren Pemali' and increasing teacher competence, mitigating changes climate by planting mangroves, developing youth competencies and capacities, infrastructure and social improvements.
In addition, in the health sector through the Oto Sehat and Lead Go Sehat programs. In the socio-cultural field through the 'Orang Lum' indigenous community capacity building program, capacity building for fostered partners, and the disaster response ERG program.
PT Timah Tbk's Head of Corporate Communications, Anggi Siahaan said that in distributing its CSR program the company seeks to play a role in the socio-economic development of the community.
Distribution of PT Timah Tbk's CSR is also in the form of productive things such as fishing grounds and coral gardens which in the process involve community empowerment. So that it is expected to increase the productivity of the community so that it can have an economic impact.
