In Collaboration with the Pangkalpinang City National Narcotics Agency, PT TIMAH Tbk Supports the Ananda Bersinar Program to Instill Anti-Drug Education from an Early Age

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk supports efforts to educate and prevent drug abuse, particularly among the younger generation. This commitment was demonstrated through the company’s participation in the Ananda Bersinar Competition organized by the National Narcotics Agency of Pangkalpinang City on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

In the event, PT TIMAH provided support for the Da’i and Da’iyah Competition, which is part of the National Anti-Narcotics Action for Drug-Free Children 2026, involving a total of 71 participants.

Through a religious approach, the competition serves as an effective educational platform to convey messages about the dangers of drug abuse in a respectful and engaging manner, while instilling positive values in children from an early age.

Head of the Pangkalpinang City National Narcotics Agency, Muhammad Nizar, emphasized that drug abuse is a serious threat to the future of the younger generation, making early prevention efforts essential.

“Drug abuse is a serious threat to the future of our younger generation. Through the Ananda Bersinar program, we are committed to early prevention, including through religious outreach so that anti-drug messages can be effectively delivered,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation for PT TIMAH’s role in supporting the program, noting that it reflects a collective effort to realize Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045.

“We hope to continue collaborating with PT TIMAH in supporting P4GN efforts, which include prevention, eradication, abuse control, and combating the illicit trafficking of narcotics,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial National Narcotics Agency, Eko Kristianto, also appreciated PT TIMAH’s contribution in supporting the implementation of the program as part of regional drug prevention efforts.

“This synergy shows that PT TIMAH, as a state-owned enterprise, has a strong commitment to human resource development in Bangka Belitung, particularly in safeguarding the younger generation from the dangers of drugs. We hope that this collaboration will extend beyond competitions to broader and more sustainable prevention programs within the community,” he said.

He added that the competition is not merely a contest, but also serves as a medium for education and advocacy to help children understand the dangers of drug abuse.

“This activity is one of our prevention strategies—providing information, education, and advocacy to children from an early age. We want elementary school students to have the courage to speak out about the dangers of drugs and be able to protect themselves from them,” he explained.

One of the participants, Meghumi Arazyqya Zhaura Lora, a student of MIN 1 Central Bangka who won first place, expressed her pride in participating in the competition.

“I’m happy to take part in this competition. Even though it was my first time, I stayed motivated because I practiced with guidance from my parents,” she said.
