In collaboration with the East Belitung Prosecutor's Office, PT Timah Holds a Mining Governance Workshop

BELITUNG -- Improvements in mining governance within PT Timah continue, this is one of the company's commitments to continue to improve the company's performance.

One of the efforts made by PT Timah is through increasing collaboration with various parties including the Prosecutor's Office.

Through the Tins Series Program, PT Timah again held a mining governance workshop for the Timah people in Wilasi Belitung.

This workshop was held together with the East Belitung District Prosecutor's Office and chose the theme 'Mining Governance', taking place at the Fairfield Tanjung Pandan Hotel, Belitung, Friday (12/7/2024).

Last June, PT Timah also held a workshop on Mining Management together with the Belitung District Prosecutor's Office.

The governance workshop program, which is a collaboration between PT Timah and the prosecutor's office, will be held in all the company's operational areas. This is the Company's effort to improve mining governance in the company's internal environment.

PT Timah HR Director Hendra Kusuma Wardana, who opened this activity, said that this workshop was an effort to increase employee competency within PT Timah.

"This workshop is an effort to improve employee competency and become part of corporate governance," he said.

He appreciated the Law Enforcement Officials, in this case, the East Belitung District Prosecutor's Office, who had become partners or partners working in the field.

According to him, the Prosecutor's Office has three functions related to PT Timah, namely Civil and State Administration (Datun), Intelligence, and Law Enforcement.

Hendra asked that in the Datun sector, PT Timah could ask for assistance regarding legal opinions and companions. In the intelligence field, we can collaborate regarding asset security and company business development. Likewise with law enforcement.

In implementing mining governance, PT Timah starts from various aspects such as exploration, mining, Human Resources, reclamation, procurement, and sales.

"In improving governance there are internal and external challenges, here professionalism is needed. "We hope that from this discussion we can better understand the regulations and that later the prosecutor's office can provide input, evaluation, and guidance," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the East Belitung District Prosecutor's Office, Rita Susanti, said that her party appreciates and supports PT Timah's collaboration with the East Belitung District Prosecutor's Office regarding mining governance.

"We really appreciate and support this activity. Because PT Timah is really needed by the community in East Belitung, the community is also waiting for changes so that PT Timah's image will continue to improve in the future," he said.

With this collaboration, it is hoped that governance at PT Timah can be improved so that the benefits can be felt even more by the people of East Belitung.

"We need to synergize what is needed to improve governance in the asset sector because assets determine the steps we will take to manage assets in Beltim Regency and problems that we can address to speed up making PT Timah better," he said.

"Hopefully in the future PT Timah and Datun can collaborate even better, taking advantage of the existing potential to achieve the benefits of PT Timah for the people of East Belitung," he continued.

In this interactive workshop, the Head of the Civil and State Administration Section (Kasi Datun) of the East Belitung District Prosecutor's Office, Wika Hawasara, delivered material about the role of the prosecutor's office in safeguarding assets, especially BUMN.

The Timah people who took part in this workshop also seemed enthusiastic about discussing various problems faced in the field. (*)
