EAST BELITUNG - Public health is one of the concerns of PT Timah Tbk in implementing corporate social and environmental responsibility (CSER) programs. One of them is helping alleviate the medical expenses of low-income communities in the company's operational areas.
In 2023, dozens of residents of Belitung Island received assistance for medical costs distributed in the Belitung Regency and East Belitung Regency.
Head of the Department of Social Empowerment of Women and Child Protection, East Belitung Regency, M Yulhaidir, stated that PT Timah Tbk's program in assisting communities in need, such as medical aid, is extraordinary.
PT Timah Tbk also provides health services through mobile clinics and assists in transporting patients to other cities.
"It is extraordinary to contribute to bringing services closer to the community. PT Timah Tbk's CSR program in helping the community is very beneficial and has a direct impact," said M Yulhaidir.
According to Yulhaidir, PT Timah Tbk's CSR program greatly assists the local government, especially in providing financing assistance to those in need.
"We hope that in the future, this program will continue to be improved, both in terms of budget support and the number of community service visits to villages," he explained.
Yulhaidir hopes that the medical cost assistance from PT Timah Tbk to the community can continue to be sustainable, benefiting even more people.
In the future, he hopes that PT Timah Tbk can continue to collaborate with the local government to enhance healthcare services for the community, such as improving facilities and infrastructure in East Belitung.
